What does the hot box process involve?

ND Brown’s 26-tonne GVW Econ Roadmender Hot Box hire truck has a capacity of 5 cubic metres with a hydraulic breaker part and thermostatically controlled gas system.

Its features include a tow bar, reverse camera, beacon bar and chapter 8 which is available for short to long term hire.

The Hot Box Hire Truck Process Explained

Our Roadmender uses conduction convection heating, which provides contractors with quantities of bagged hot-mix asphalt as a cost-effective alternative to cold-lay materials.

You will fill the box up with large amounts of bagged material and set the thermostat to the desired temperature. It will heat for a number of hours and then the material will be ready to lay.

While most cold lay materials cost much more than hot mix asphalt, which is designed for the Roadmender.

The truck can also provide additional savings which enable you to reheat leftover material that has gone cold.

Because of its 26 tonne capacity, the Roadmender is also capable of maintaining asphalt temperatures for up to 2 days and will also reclaim/reheat excess or leftover asphalt after it has cooled down. This means you won’t have to buy more asphalt than you need, to keep just half of it warm.
